Families- Jonah

Jonah receives 24 hour care from his parents, Hayley and Ben. He attends a special school in Cardiff and despite being nearly six years old, cannot walk or talk. He doesn’t eat and so his parents had to make the difficult decision to have a gastrostomy tube fitted. This means that milk and medications are inserted through a tube directly into his stomach.

Jonah has been fortunate in that his school are of the opinion that each child should be treated for their individual needs- not the label that they have. Something that Hayley believes should be adopted by other services.
